I am actually here on DA a lot more than my Journal would suggest. I'm always interested in the comments people leave for my work, but mostly I enjoy seeing what everyone else has been up to.

For anyone close enough to go, I went to the Mall Galleries in London a couple of days ago. Their annual Portrait Exhibition is on this month, well worth a look.

A very good friend of mine has just joined DA. He does children's book and editorial illustrations, among other things. It's wonderful stuff, very funny, always entertaining. Check it out here: worldofpetergeorge.deviantart.…

..well, nearly. My last journal was about my 2011 Zombie Calendar, this post is about my 2012 Zombie Calendar:) As with last year, it will be available in places like Amazon, calendars.com, Barnes & Nobel etc.

It's been a busy year so far, more Magic the Gathering, Warcraft TCG and other bits and bobs to keep me busy. I'm also working on some oil paintings again after another break from that. Mainly portraits this time, although they still have fantasy themes and backgrounds. Fun stuff.

Speaking of oil painting, anyone here paint on wood? I'd like to give it a go but I want a good quality wood, not something that will deteriorate over time ( well, not too quickly anyway). Any thoughts or advice on the type of wood to use and how to prep it would be very welcome.
